Ao Senden has expressed utter shock at the report of alleged abduction and coldblooded murder of Imkongjeba Kichu of Chungtia village, whose lifeless body was found on February 23, and stated that the whole Ao community was troubled by the tragic loss of a promising Ao youth.

The organisation, in a press release jointly issued by its president, Chubawati Longchar, and general secretary, Imtipokyim, stated that all true Ao citizens by blood bow their heads in shame by the brazenly barbarous nature in front of the world.

Ao Senden has demanded that the competent authorities to immediately apprehend the culprits with such savage regressive mentality to commit murder and award exemplary punishment to the fullest extent of the law.

In another statement, the batch mates of Imkongjeba Kichu from Queen Mary School in Mokokchung (Class of 2005), while condemning the cold blooded murder, has termed the barbaric incident in broad daylight was not only an act of cowardice but unlawful and inhumane. It added that such senseless act of killing was an outright violation of human rights and a sign of barbarism.

It described Imkongjeba as a responsible citizen who had continuously strived and worked for the welfare and betterment of the community and society at large. The batch mates of Imkongjeba have expressed unflinching solidarity with the victim’s family and the people of Chungtia in demanding befitting justice at the earliest in accordance with law.

They have further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
