Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN):
Dimapur unit of the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) held its first-ever felicitation programme for the HSLC and HSSLC toppers under NBSE from Dimapur district at Holy Cross School auditorium on Tuesday.

A total of 72 students were felicitated at the event. It was informed that out of 80 HSLC toppers in the state, 43 were from various ANPSA member schools in Dimapur, while out of 44 toppers in HSSLC, 30 were also from various schools in Dimapur.

Speaking at the felicitation programme as the special guest, the Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), Y Kikheto Sema, termed the students as the hope and future leaders and added that their hard work and dedication to studies have brought them together.

Besides bestowing distinction to Dimapur as the ‘Gateway of Nagaland and commercial hub of Nagaland,’ Kikheto remarked that with such outstanding academic performance, Dimapur too could boast of having the best private schools in Nagaland. Kikheto further advised the students to fear and humble before God at all times and to obey their teachers and parents in order to achieve success in life.

The deputy commissioner of Dimapur and guest of honour, Rajesh Soundararajan, said that students would have lots of questions after passing out their exam as to what course of studies they should pursue. He advised the students to choose a course they were interested in and not what their parents or friends are interested in.

Stating that the actual competition is with oneself and not with others, Soundararajan encouraged the students to set a target and decide the direction they want to go. He added that a person without a goal would have no direction to go. He further encouraged the students to give their best in whatever field they chose as he stated that it was not worthy being mediocre in the field.

The president of ANPSA Dimapur unit, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, while delivering a welcome address, encouraged the students to be upright and stick to their principle.
