Dimapur, June 22 (EM): Following a written state from the state government through the chief secretary dated June 22 to review the committee’s report in a month’s time, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has decided to keep in abeyance its proposed intensified and indefinite digital protest.

This was conveyed by the union’s president, Vimeyiekho Vitso, and the vice president, Inato Y Chisho, through a press release on Tuesday.

The union mentioned that in its perseverance to deliver justice to the students community pertaining to the fund utilisation at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) under AICTE-NEQIP, the state government has disclosed the enquiry committee’s report on June 21 after continued pressure. The union had, on June 14, served intimation to the chief secretary to bring out the committee report within one week.

The union also stated that on invitation of the state government, a meeting was held on June 19 and 21 with the government. It stated that on receipt of the committee report, the union had expressed dissatisfaction with the report claiming it was “vague and incomprehensive.”

Subsequently on June 22, the state government through the chief secretary communicated to its office in writing to review the committee report in a month’s time with effect from the letter date of the chief secretary, the union stated.
