Dimapur, Jan. 30: Governor PB Acharya has once again appealed all ‘sections of Naga civil society’ to extend cooperation to the state government ‘in the election process to the urban local bodies’ in Nagaland.
According to a Raj Bhavan press release, the governor has reminded that the spirit of democracy was dialogue and rule of law.
“He further said that every tribe has their own elected members in the Legislative Assembly and this is the forum to discuss any issue and come to conclusion on the basis of majority opinion.
“Since it was unanimously passed in the Assembly, there is no reason why the civil societies should demand for revocation of the decision of the Assembly, which is supreme institution in democracy for Nagaland,” Acharya was reported as saying.
