‘All party government for early solution to Naga issue’ – Sazo

Kohima, Dec. 20 (EMN): Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Dr. Chotisüh Sazo, on Tuesday said the formation of all party government was to press for early resolution of the protracted Naga political issue.

Sazo stated this while addressing the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of Phusadochu unit during the general meeting-cum pre-Christmas celebration at Tükhonyiba in Phusachodu village under Phek district.

He maintained that the 21 NPF MLAs joining the NDPP was only “change of the party” but the principle remains the same as both NPF and NDPP being regional parties.

He stressed on the need for a strong regional party and strengthening the leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and the NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak. He also sought people’s support to strengthen the NDPP party and leadership, while advising the party men and women not to be misled by rumours or be disheartened.

Mulukhoyi Murao, associate pastor of Phusachodu Baptist Church (PBC), in his Christmas message, told the people in attendance to upkeep integrity, which is pleasing in the sight of God.

Vekuri Khüsoh, NDPP president of 18 Chozouba AC, conveyed festive greetings and urged the people to celebrate Christmas in true sense of oneness and love. He told the gathering not to be misled by rumours and propagandas of politics ahead of election, but to stand on truth and choose a leader who would stand and voice out for the Nagas.

Zacuyi Nienu, Vevotso Medeo and Chekrongonyi Theyo, who also spoke on the occasion, stressed on the need to strengthen the leadership of sitting MLA Dr. Chotisüh Sazo.

On  the occasion, the welcome address was delivered by Rüdashuyi Theluo, while folk songs were presented by Vekeyelü and Vekhotolu.

Later at Yoruba village, Sazo addressed a public meeting and assured of his commitment to work for the uplift of the people. He also highlighted the need for proper water supply with reservoir in Chozuba Assembly (AC) constituency and stressed on the need for skill education and economic development and improvement through agri and allied sectors.

Short speeches were also delivered by Chekrongoyi Theyo, Vezhotso Khamo, Vekhotsoyi Nyekha and Vekuri Khüsoh.
