All CSS proposals should route through proper channel
Neiphiu Rio addressing the state-level DISHA committee meeting held in Kohima on August 31.

Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister and chairperson of the state-level DISHA committee, Neiphiu Rio, on Friday reminded that all the proposals for centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) should be routed through proper channel.

Rio stated this during the state-level DISHA committee meeting held on August 31 at the Chief Minister’s Office, CMRC, in Kohima. The meeting was held to discuss on matters pertaining to the development activities of all the flagship programmes under the various departments in the state.

Addressing the members, Rio informed that all the proposals for central sponsored schemes activities initiated by different departments should routed through a proper channel. Rio also advised the departments to seek proper advice and briefing on various programmes implementation by the concerned department.

While mentioning about the remarks made by the Union Finance Minister during the CSR Conclave, Rio apprised the department officials to work with utmost dedication, stated a DIPR report.

Metsubo Jamir, minister of Rural Development and co-chairperson of the state-level DISHA committee, delivered the welcome address and encouraged various departments to converge all the schemes for better cohesiveness.

S Phangnon Konyak, Rajya Sabha MP and member of state-level DISHA committee, emphasised that benefits of all schemes should reach to the last person for whom it was targeted.

In the meeting, nine major departments namely Social Welfare, School Education, Health and Family Welfare, PWD (Works & Housing), Rural Development, Agriculture, Urban and Municipal Affairs, Power and PHE highlighted their achievements covering FY 2021-22 and 2022-2023 and issues faced by the departments on the implementation of the CSS programmes.

The chairman further urged the departments to bring to his notice any hurdle which required his intervention for taking up the matter with the government of India and also suggested that it should be informed to the two members of parliament of the state.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by NeposoTheluo, secretary of Rural Development department and member secretary of the state-level DISHA committee.
