Members of worship team from London, Hillsong London, led by Pastor Gary Clark interacted with media persons on Saturday at the de Oriental Grand in Kohima town. The eight-member worship team, which arrived in the state’s capital on March 26, kicked off their live worship programme on Friday evening in the Khuochiezie local ground. The three-day programme was staged under the theme ‘the sound of the new generation.’ The event will culminate on Sunday evening. The Hillsong tour programme to Nagaland is being organized by the youth department of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) under an initiative of New India Church of God.
Speaking on behalf of the worship team, Pastor Gary Clark considered a privilege their coming here in Nagaland and to perform in front of the Nagas. He particularly thanked the youth department of the NBCC for making their visit possible. On the theme “The sound of the new generation, Pastor Clark said the concept was to encourage the next generation leaders to take responsibility.
“It’s the new generation who are going to be the leaders of tomorrow – be it in the field of business, social, religious and politics,” he said adding that there is always an emerging generation in any history.
“We want a generation that will make a difference to the world, a generation that can be trusted,” Clark said.
On a query what message the team will take back home, the worship leader Jason Cook expressed his love for Nagaland. “Christ is truly alive here in this place, and there’s no better message than this” Cook said. On Saturday, a workshop for pastors and leaders was also held at Union Baptist Church, Kohima with Gary Clark as the resource person, while the worship team leader Jason Cook was the resource person on the topic “Worship leaders and production team” held at Sumi Baptist Church, Kohima.
