Training on ‘future trading in agri commodities, underway

The 2-day training on capacity building on ‘Future trading in agricultural commodities’ for chairman and secretaries of Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) of all districts and sub-division got underway on Friday at NSAMB Office Conference Hall, Agri Expo, 4th Mile, Dimapur.
The training was jointly organized by Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCSNIAM) Jaipur and Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB), Dimapur.
Addressing at the inaugural programme, chief guest, S Chuba Longkumer, MLA & vice chairman, NSAMB said the whole system of government as well as department will be in total failure and for any kind of development without proper training.
“In the bygone days,” he said, “manpower was the only means for all development but presently technology is the main factor for any kind of implementation and that’s the human civilization. Human beings have become masters of technology and for development; modern technology is what we turn to.”
Stressing on the importance of agriculture in a country like India, he said 80% of the country depends on agriculture and agriculturist are the producers of all kinds of commodities.
The MLA also termed marketing as purely practical and therefore emphasized to conduct such kind of training from time to time, even in districts, sub-division and village levels so that the ideology of marketing are taught and understood by the mass for all round development.

 

He also expressed hope that the two-day training would ‘definitely improve’ the marketing system and picture of agricultural marketing in the state.
Dr Ramesh Mittal, deputy director, National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM) Jaipur, in his keynote address said the purpose of agricultural marketing is to give out all kinds of advantages regarding agriculture to all the stake holders and focus more on the needs and desires of the states across the country.
The inaugural programme was chaired by secretary & CEO, NSAMB, I Panger where he welcome the participants on behalf of NSAMB Dimapur and vote of thanks was rendered by Asst. executive officer, NSAMB, Benri Mozhui.
