3-day Inter-School Sports Meet begins in Pungro
KIPHIRE — The 3-day Inter-School Sports Meet 2024, organised by the Pungro Sports Association on the theme “Champions of tomorrow,” commenced on Tuesday at the public ground of Pungro town and will conclude on October 3.
The participating schools include Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Pungro; Government Higher Secondary School, Pungro; Mount Hermon Baptist School, Pungro; Agape School of Ministry, Pungro; Government Middle School, Pungro; Government Middle School, Pungro village; and Government Primary School, Forest ward, with a total of 3,655 students.
The inaugural event was attended by the special guest, Sukheamew Yimchunger, District Evaluation Officer of Tuensang, who encouraged students to embrace sports as a career and highlighted the importance of sports for personality development and overall growth during the inauguration.
It is worth mentioning that the Pungro Sports Association, founded in 2014 with the motto “In Pursuit of Excellence,” received support from several individuals and departments for the event, including Colo Mero, vice president of the Nagaland Football Association, who contributed sports kits.
