Dimapur Police recovers body of unidentified man

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police recovered the body of an unidentified non-Naga male, aged 50–60 years, on August 25 from below the flyover in Dimapur.

According to an update from the police, at around 2:45 pm, East Police Station received a telephone call from Traffic Control Dimapur reporting a dead body was lying below the flyover.

Accordingly, East Police Station personnel on duty rushed to the site and found the body. An inquest was conducted, but no foul play could be ascertained. After examining witnesses present in and around the place of occurrence, the cause of death was suspected to be starvation and dehydration.

On completion of all legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination and identification. The person was wearing bluish trousers and no shirt.
