DIMAPUR — The second phase of skill proficiency management advanced training of trainers (ToT) for building and other construction workers was held at town hall, Tuensang on Monday.

Addressing the training programme, Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa thanked the organiser, Zynorique Initiative Society, for providing such training to the youth of Tuensang, a DIPR report stated.

The DC said that in the fast changing world, skilled jobs are needed in every field and through skill development, employment opportunities can be found in both government and private sectors.

Rutsa said that in Nagaland, a higher average of non-locals is employed in construction work because indigenous Nagas are unable to compete due to lack of skill development.

She went on to state that through the skill training, many local unemployed youth can seek job opportunities as an electrician, plumber and construction worker etc.

Exhorting the trainees to put their minds into learning the knowledge imparted during the training, the DC also informed that the state government provides various schemes and benefits for building and construction workers through the Department of Labour.

Introduction to the training was highlighted by Tenempong Longchar from Team Zynorique. The programme was chaired by EAC (P) Tuensang, Apuloka H Sumi while vote of thanks was delivered by Netenba Ajem, principal of ITI Tuensang.
