Annual summer hobby camp held at Nagaland Science Centre
DIMAPUR — Innovation Hub and Space Education Centre, Nagaland Science Centre (NSC), Dept. of Science and Technology, organised the annual summer hobby camp on Friday at the Innovation Hub, Dimapur.
According to an update from Dept. of Science and Technology, the event was held on the theme ‘Explore the possibilities – reuse and reduce.’
During the summer hobby camp, participants were made to develop useful products using waste plastic bottles, waste cardboard cartons, newspapers, waste carry bags etc.
The primary objectives of the summer hobby camp was to exercise critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills, to tap the creativity of young children, to promote and encourage local innovation and all the while finding effective yet casual ways to maximise re-usage and reduction of common non-biodegradable waste such as PET water bottles.
Students from the following schools participated in the event: GHSS Purana Bazaar; Great Commission Hr. Sec. School; St. Clare Hr. Sec. School; Little Star Hr. Sec School; Shemrock School Diphupar; CGR International School Hyderabad;, New Horizon School; Hebron Hr. Sec. School Sovima; Lorna’s Hr. Sec. School; Xuvihe Memorial School; Zakiesato Memorial Hr. Sec. School; Rincho Academy and Greenwood Hr. Sec School.
