DIMAPUR — Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland (SSPN) celebrated its 17th Founders’ Day on Saturday with Uniel Kichu, Deputy Inspector General (Range/NAP), Nagaland Police Headquarters, as the chief guest.
According to a press release, the ceremony began with a tribute to the gallant soldiers through wreath-laying at the war memorial. The event also showcased a cultural extravaganza presented by the cadets, including cultural dances, group performances, and solo acts.
During the programme, Cadet Mastufa Ahmed and Cadet Sukhabo V Kiho were awarded the titles of Best Cadet in Academics and Sports, respectively. Cadet Rakesh Nalo was recognised as the cadet demonstrating the Best Officer-Like Qualities.
Additionally, Patkai House and Doyang House were honoured with the Cock House Trophy in the junior and senior categories, respectively.
Speaking at the event, Kichu, an alumnus of Sainik School Imphal, reminisced about his days as a cadet thirty years ago. He underscored the importance of discipline, knowledge, and purpose in moulding individuals’ characters and future endeavours.
