Rhythm of Love: In conversation with Asiantrooper
Nguvishe Zhimomi, popularly known by his stage name Asiantrooper, is a talented young upcoming singer and song writer from Nagaland who has released many originals.
He is also working on a new EP (extended play) for this summer featuring Psycho K4 and Z world, which fans can look forward to.
He has his own YouTube channel named ‘Asiantrooper.’

Eastern Mirror: Can you tell a bit about yourself to the readers?
Asiantrooper: My name is Nguvishe Zhimomi, and I go by the name Asiantrooper. I belong to Sumi community and I am 24 years old. I have completed my bachelor’s degree and am currently focusing on music.
Eastern Mirror: What inspired you to get into music? Please you tell us about your musical journey.
Asiantrooper: I grew up listening to a lot of music but as I grew older I felt more attached to it and started trying to rap and make music. My musical journey has been good so far and as I am still trying to learn and gain more experience, I am excited about it.
Eastern Mirror: What genre do you feel best represents your artistic expression?
Asiantrooper: I don’t have a particular genre that I stick to or consider as my favourite but when it comes to expressing my feelings and thoughts, I feel pop genre does the job better.
Eastern Mirror: From among the nine originals you have released, which is your favorite and why?
Asiantrooper: Out of nine originals, it is probably ‘Count your blessings’ because it’s all about appreciating the love and blessings we get from God and whenever I re-listen to the song, I am reminded to praise God and do better!
Eastern Mirror: What inspires you while writing lyrics?
Asiantrooper: It is kind of hard to say or express what inspires me to write my lyrics. I can be inspired by anything I see or hear but there’s so specific thing that inspires me.
Eastern Mirror: Is music a full time goal or just a hobby for you?
Asiantrooper: As of now, I’m doing it part time, trying to experiment with new things and trying to find out what is best for me. But I hope and wish to make music my full time career and I am hoping for the best through music.
Eastern Mirror: Is there a dream collaboration you have in mind, with a fellow Naga artiste?
Asiantrooper: I have said it in other interviews too but I would love to work with Temsu Clover in the days to come.
Eastern Mirror: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Asiantrooper: “Don’t listen to the nay sayers but focus on your dreams, pray to God, look for improvement and hustle!” That was the best thing a good friend of mine advised.
Eastern Mirror: What are some of the challenges you face as a rising artiste?
Asiantrooper: I faced a lot of challenges in these past few years but if I were to put it into simple words, it would be “Production and promoting the song.”
Eastern Mirror: Any projects in the offing?
Asiantrooper: I’m doing a lot of features this year also. I have an EP coming up for the summer featuring Psycho K4 and Z world.
