Inter-District One Day Tournament: Wins for Mon and Peren

DIMAPUR — In a match, Mon defeated Kiphire by 5 wickets in the ongoing Senior Men’s Inter-District One Day Tournament 2024. The match was played at Sovima Cricket Ground.

An update from Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) informed that Kiphire managed to score only 99 runs in 27.5 overs (all out). Chasing the descent total, Mon reached the target comfortably by scoring 101 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in just 21.1 overs.

Swamwang Wangnao’s outstanding all-round performance of 32 runs (not out) besides taking 3 wickets for 10 runs, helped Mon seal the match, said the update. This performance earned him the Player of the Match Award.

In another match played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Peren defeated Phek by 50 runs.

Peren posted a massive 251 runs in 43 overs, thanks to Argha Ray who scored 119 runs of 121 balls, which also earned him the Player of the Match award. Amit Marak also scored a half century (54 runs) for the team.

Chasing the total, Lawrence Vero scored a half century (54 runs) and Mark Angami scored 30 runs for Phek but they fell short of winning after being bowled out for 201 runs in 45.1 overs.
