Strong winds, rain leave trail of destruction in Assam’s Karbi Anglong

DIPHU — Heavy rains accompanied by high-velocity winds damaged several houses and uprooted betel nut trees in the Panjan area under Nilip MAC constituency in Karbi Anglong, Assam on Monday.
Sources said that many villages were affected by the inclement weather that hit the area around 1 pm on March 25 but the most affected ones are Panjan Sam Hanse, Ingti and Jadop Rongpi.
Gilbert Hanse of Sam Hanse village, whose house was completely damaged by the winds, had requested the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Chief Executive Member, Tuliram Romghang and local MAC of Nilip Constituency, Prabitro Rongpi to provide relief to the victims.
