SSP felicitates alumni on being commissioned as officers
DIMAPUR — Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) in Peren district felicitated two of its cadets who got commissioned as officers during a programme held on March 15.
A defence release stated that Flight Lieutenant Obed Newmai has been commissioned into Indian Air Force, while Lieutenant Hinoto Kakishe Yepthomi has been commissioned to the Indian Army. They were the first two distinguished Naga alumni and valiant officers.
During the programme, Flight Lieutenant Newmai and Lieutenant Yepthomi delivered an inspirational lecture to the young cadets and exhorted them to embrace the call of duty and consider a noble career in the armed forces.
Report stated that their poignant narrative traversed the corridors of time, recounting their formative years at Sainik School Punglwa and the indelible lessons learned therein.
With unwavering resolve and spirit, they shared their remarkable journey from cadetship to commissioning, epitomising the ethos of discipline, integrity and sacrifice instilled by their alma mater. It added that their testimonies resonated deeply with the cadets, igniting a fervent desire to follow in their footsteps and serve the nation with unyielding devotion.
They were presented the school memento by the school principal as a token of their association with the school, while the school vice principal expressed gratitude to the distinguished alumni and lauded them for being a beacon of inspiration to the young cadets of the school.
