DHD School of Nursing conducts workshop on mental health
DIMAPUR — The District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) School of Nursing, in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare, conducted a two-day workshop on ‘Mental health matters: Understanding mental health and wellness’ on February 22 and 23.
An update from the school informed that nurses from different districts of Nagaland attended the workshop. The participants included community health officers (CHO), staff nurses, ANM from various sub-centres, health and wellness centres, community health centres (CHC), primary health centres (PHC) and District Hospitals of Peren, Longleng, Medziphema, Noklak, Wokha, Zunheboto, Chümoukedima, Niuland and Dimapur.
The guest speaker was Dr. A Temsuyanger Ao, nodal officer of District Mental Health Programme, Dimapur; while the training coordinator was Bendangnaro, principal of DHD School of Nursing.
The resource persons were nursing teachers namely Limasungla Aier, Vive S Chishi, Yashirenla Jamir and Limabenla.
Report stated that Dr. Temsuyanger spoke on ‘Common mental health problems: Understanding suicide and depression,’ while Vive Chishi spoke on ‘Importance of mental health and wellness,’ and Limasungla Aier spoke on ‘Healthy eating/ body image’ on February 22.
On February 23, Yashirenla spoke on ‘Burnout and how to reduce burnout,’ while Limasungla spoke on ‘Resilience,’ and Vive Chishi on ‘Mental health first aid,’ and Limabenla on ‘Healthy relationships.’
