Governor stresses collaboration to enhance knowledge

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, has insisted on the need for collaboration and exchange of ideas among budding physiotherapists to stay abreast with the current trends in the field.

Ganesan stated this during the valedictory session of the 10th MGM International Physiotherapy Conference on Tuesday held at the North East Christian University (NECU) in Dimapur. He expressed delight to witness the first ever physiotherapy conference and termed as a significant milestone that showed commitment to healthcare and education, stated a DIPR report.

He stated that the conference held special importance as it honours the memory of the late physiotherapist Mahadev G Mokashi, a veteran in the field. Ganesan stated that his contributions have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the landscape of physiotherapy.

Ganesan further congratulated NECU for hosting the conference and expressed his happiness to witness the growth of the university as one of high quality and contextual to the region in its approach. He expressed delight to witness educators from various parts of the country gathered in the conference, dedicating their time and expertise to transfer knowledge to the next generation of physiotherapists.

He stated that the theme “Changing trends: challenging the future,” was most appropriate in the current scenario saying that it was crucial for the students to be equipped with the latest advancements in physiotherapy in an ever evolving healthcare landscape.

He expressed confidence that the conference would provide a platform for students to gain insights and learn from experienced professionals to face the challenges of the future with confidence. He also expressed hope that the knowledge gained and connections made during the conference would contribute significantly to the growth and progress of physiotherapy in the state and beyond.

Ganesan further expressed hope that the conference would be a beacon of inspiration for all physiotherapists and students and guide them towards excellence in their pursuit of enhancing healthcare through physiotherapy.

A report was presented by Prof. Purnima Singh, chairman of NPFT, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Bhatri Pratim Dowahrah, regions coordinator.

A prayer song was performed by the students of CMER, NECU.
