Awareness programme on Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) held in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — An awareness programme on Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) was held at DC Court Junction in Dimapur on FRiday. VBSY aims to raise awareness relating to the implementation of several central schemes such as the Ujjwala Yojana, PM SVANidhi, PM Suraksha Bima and Ayushman Bharat etc.
Speaking at the programme, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, asserted that the main objective of the yatra was to help reach information to the grassroots about the various schemes given out by central government. He stated that many areas in the states are still unaware of the scheme and have not availed them.
According to him many people especially in rural areas are unable to avail the schemes because the information was not disseminated to them. He stated that to develop the country, the poor people must be uplifted and added saying, “If we fail to uplift the poor, then Dimapur cannot be called a developed city.”
He urged the people to continue spreading awareness even after the yatra was over.
He further administered the pledge to make India developed and self reliant by 2047, remove any trace of colonial mindset, celebrate our heritage, strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country and perform the duties of a citizen.
Poonam Meena, deputy secretary of Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Government of India, who was deputed as the nodal officer to observe the yatra camp in the state, also asked everyone to help the poor people benefit from the various schemes.
During the programme, success stories were also shared by beneficiaries of PMSVANidhi and PMAY .
After the awareness programme, health camp was also conducted at the site.
In another programme, Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was held at Chiphur public ground under Noklak district on Friday.
NSRLM nodal officer, Obed, chaired the programme, wherein a recorded message of the prime minister was played to the gathering and also administered the sankalp pledge.
During the programme women achievers were felicitated by NSRLM Thonoknyu.
Other highlights of the programme included presentation of folk song and skit.
Similar session was also held at Kingjung village public ground in Noklak district on the same day.
