Manipur CM to hold key stakeholder meeting on LHEP modernisation

IMPHAL — The Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh, in collaboration with the Loktak Development Authority, has convened a joint meeting of all stakeholders on December 15.

The meeting will focus on discussing the modernisation plan proposed by the National Hydro Electric Power Corporation for the Loktak Hydro Electric Project, according to sources.

Key issues such as environmental degradation, community displacement, socio-economic changes, particularly in sustaining livelihoods, and alterations to the local ecosystem will be central topics of discussion at the meeting.

This event will provide a platform for stakeholders to express their concerns and explore sustainable alternatives.
