KOHIMA — The much-anticipated rostrum at Kiruphema local ground was inaugurated by Vibeilietuo Kets, special assistant to the chief minister, on Thursday.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Kets has emphasised the importance of such infrastructure in promoting local culture, sports, and community development. He expressed gratitude to the chief minister for providing necessary support towards the project, stated an update from the village youth organisation.
Kets said that Kiruphema village could be a testament to the commitment of the state government towards the welfare and development of its communities. He added that rostrum would be a centre for cultural exchange and community engagement for years to come.
“Modeling our business practices around local products not only preserves our heritage but also has several key advantages. Supporting local businesses and modelling our economic practices around local products is not just a smart business decision, it’s a way to strengthen our communities and safeguard our unique cultural identity,” Kets said.
Also speaking on the occasion, Vichülie Dahou, chairman of Kiruphema general council, stated that rostrum at Kiruphema local ground has been a long-awaited project that promises to bring numerous benefits to the community and the region as a whole. He said that the state-of-the-art facility would serve as a focal point for various community events, gatherings, and cultural activities.
He added that the project is expected to foster a stronger sense of community and provide a platform for local talent to showcase their skills and creativity.
The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by pastors and catechists of Kiruphema churches.
The programme was chaired by Kekhrievituo Dahou, president of Kiruphema Youth Organisation, while invocation prayer was said by Medovilie Vielie, pastor of Peducha CRC, and folk song was presented by Neilasielie Vielie and friends. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Neicasato Visienyü, former president Kiruphema Youth Organisation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by dignitaries, local leaders and residents of Kiruphema village.
