Career guidance provided to students at Mokokchung ITI

MOKOKCHUNG — The District Employment Exchange (Model Career Centre) conducted an outreach programme on career talk and promoting the National Career Service (NCS) on Wednesday at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Mokokchung.

The event aimed to empower students and promote self-reliance through career guidance and information. It was attended by 82 students in total.

Yapang Jamir of Model Career Centre, Mokokcung, affiliated with the Ministry of Labour and Employment under the National Career Service project, shared insights about the various services provided by the NCS during the session.

He also presented the students with a roadmap to achieving self-independence after the completion of their ITI course.

The centre intends to organise more such events to support the career aspirations of the students in the district, said an official.

The principal of ITI Mokokchung, Imlisunep, acknowledged in his address to the district employment officer (DEO) for encouraging the students to make informed career choices and lauded the ITI for its contribution to vocational education.

He also revealed that as of June 2023, Nagaland unemployment figures remain a matter of concern, with approximately 70,218 individuals seeking employment opportunities.
