NSF Trophy: F4C Academy, Piphema sail into quarterfinals

KOHIMA — United FC Piphema and F4C Academy advanced into the quarterfinals at the ongoing 23rd NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy after outplaying their rivals in Monday’s matches played here at IG Stadium.

In the first match of the day, United FC Piphema edged past NUSU-KC 2-1.

Razoukhrielie (13) of United FC found the net in the 12th minute, sending their fans into frenzy. However, Shanti Y Konyak (10) of NUSU-KC found the equaliser in the 20th minute.

The defining moment of the game came in the 37th minute when Ayen Manga (7) of United FC scored the winning goal.

The exceptional performance of Joyson Rhi (3) earned him the man of the match award, presented by Seyieneilhou Keyho, former ASU executive and president Chakhroma Youth Organisation.

United FC Piphema will now go head-to-head with Asufü Football Academy in the quarterfinals, promising another exciting clash for football enthusiasts.

In the second match, F4C Academy demonstrated their superior play by defeating Jakhama Youth Organisation (JYO) with a scoreline of 2-1.

Ntselo (6) opened the score for JYO in the 37th minute, but their lead was short-lived as Kamgouhao Doungle (11) of F4C Academy equalised the score in the 49th minute.

After a grueling contest, Seigongin Chongloi (6) of F4C emerged as the hero, scoring the winning goal in the 75th minute.

Khaiminlen Touthang (1) of F4C academy was awarded man of the match, which was presented by Khriezelhou Vitso, former ASU executive and co-convenor 23rd NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy.

With this victory, F4C Academy have secured their berth in the quarterfinals and will now take on the winners of Red Scars FC versus Viswemi FC in the next round.
