Departments undertake Swachhta Hi Seva campaign in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — Several organisations and government departments carried out cleanliness drives at various locations across Dimapur on Sunday as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
Dimapur Municipal Corporation (DMC), in collaboration with the Dimapur Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Team Better Dimapur, coordinated a collective community effort. The joint team cleaned the new flyover bridge near the Dimapur railway station by engaging two fire tender vehicles one each from the Police department and Fire and Emergency Services.
The collaborative social initiative not only enhanced the aesthetics of the bridge but also promoted a sense of civic responsibility and community pride.
In another programme, the Joint Controller Communication Accounts NE-2 Telecom Circle, Dimapur, undertook a Swachhta Hi Seva campaign by organising a cleanliness drive at Naga Shopping Arcade (Super Market) area with an aim to contribute to the mission of achieving a garbage-free India.
It was aimed at propagating the message of Swachh Bharat Mission, which has evolved into a widespread mass movement, where citizens collectively took on the responsibility for the cleanliness of their surroundings.
Meanwhile, as a part of Swachhata Pakhwada- Swachhata Hi Seva 2023, a mass cleanliness drive was also conducted by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Lumding divison, at Dimapur Railway Station as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
The extensive cleanliness activities were carried out under the guidance of senior DEN/IV/LMG, Ajay Kr. Verma; ADEN/DMV, Bishnu; and assistant security commissioner, DMV, with the participation of the entire department’s staff and their families.
