Postal department organises sensitisation on DCDP in Kigwema

DIMAPUR — Postal department, in collaboration with the Social Welfare department and Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), organised the first sub-divisional level meeting on DAK Community Development Programme (DCDP) at Kigwema village council hall on September 29.

Delivering the welcome address, inspector of posts under Mokokchung sub-division, Kevikhrielie Kirha, highlighted on Dak Community Development Programme (DCDP), which was a new approach of the department of Posts to raise awareness about its services, consolidating central and state government information and services, expand customer enrollment for government schemes, involve local state government officials in planning and execution, establish a common branding, execution strategy, data sharing and stakeholders’ participation for a larger goal of community development.

An update from Postal department stated that a short speech highlighting the important financial products of the department including speed post and PLI/ RPLI and their advantages was delivered by inspector of posts under Kohima sub-division, Rajani Jha.

The senior manager of IPPB, Kohima Branch, I Moala Ao, spoke on the IPPB products and services and appealed to the villagers of Kigwema village to open IPPB premium accounts and avail various services such as PMJJBY and accidental insurance, CELC etc., which were aimed for the welfare of the community.

The CDPO of Jakhama block, Zubemo Jami, urged the gathering to open accounts in the post office. He also highlighted the important welfare schemes of the Social Welfare department such as PMMVY, Poshan etc., which could be directly transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT.

A short speech on behalf of the village council was delivered by Neisakolie Mera, GB of Kigwema village, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dipak Chandra Das, ASP (HQ), Nagaland Postal Division, Kohima.

Around 135 persons attended the programme.
