KSCDL wins award at India smart cities contest

DIMAPUR — Kohima Smart City Development Ltd. (KSCDL) was awarded under national/ zonal city category of the India Smart Cities Award Contest (ISAC) during the India Smart Cities Conclave held at Brilliant Convention Centre (BCC) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on September 26 and 27.

An update from KSCDL stated that the ISAC 2022 awards were given away by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.

The award was received by the commissioner and secretary of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Kenilo Apon; CEO of KSCDL, K Theunuo; and senior general manager of KSCDL, Kekhriesetuo Ziephru.

The team from Nagaland included senior manager (finance), Angke Konyak; manager (planning), Rokovono Beio; and technology analyst (IT), Ruokuokhrienuo.

It stated that the event also witnessed stall exhibitions by all the 22 award-winning cities at BCC, Indore.

It mentioned that the India Smart Cities Award Contest (ISAC) was organised under the Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. It added that ISAC recognises and rewards the cities, projects and innovative ideas that are promoting sustainable development across the 100 smart cities, as well as stimulating inclusive, equitable, safe, healthy and collaborative cities, thus enhancing the quality of life for all.

The ISAC 2022 awards comprised six categories namely ‘Project awards: 10 different themes,’ ‘Innovation awards: 2 different themes,’ ‘National/ zonal city awards,’ ‘State awards,’ ‘UT award,’ and ‘Partners awards, 3 different themes.’
