NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy: Asüfü FA and New Market FC win
KOHIMA — Asüfü Football Academy and New Market FC showcased their dominance with impressive victories on the sixth day of the ongoing NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium Kohima.
In the first match, Asüfü Football Academy triumphed over Sechü FC 2-0 in a hard fought game.
Lamgumlal Kigpin (14) of Asüfü Football Academy at 42nd minute opened their account, while the victory goal was sealed by P Sorormi Thingsang (11) at the 84th minute. With the win, Asüfü Football Academy advanced to the next round.
During the match, a yellow card was cautioned to Woreithem Rain (4) of Asüfü Football Academy, while Mhaphruovito Rhatsu of Sechü FC was sent off from the field for unsporting behaviour after 70 minutes.
Lamgumlal Kigpen was honoured the man of the match with the award presented by Kevikhrietuo Dawhuo, former ASU executive.
In the second match, defending champion New Market FC delivered a remarkable performance by defeating Ignite FC with a commanding score of 10-0.
The match witness a double hat-trick for New Market FC with Thejasetuo Gwire (7) scoring 4 goals at 7th, 20th, 27th and 45th minutes and Neisede Peseyie(23) scoring 3 goals at 14th, 68th and 69th minutes.
Petevizo Kezeo (11) added 2 goals at 36th and 46th minutes, while Khiuwangbo Kaurintah also found the net at the 6th minutes.
New Market FC is set to face Mima FC in the next round on September 28.
Thejasetuo Gwirie was named the man of the match and the award was presented by Dievi Yano, former president ASU President.
