NSCN (IM) Tatar responds to NSCN-K (Niki) clarification

DIMAPUR — Abo Pungham, Tatar, GPRN, has responded to the NSCN-K (Niki) clarification dated September 1, in which the group mentioned that characters like Aboh Wangsu alias Abo Pungham alias Abo Bolam should be summarily terminated from Naga national service.

In his response, Pungham stated that the ‘calling letter’ was issued in the name of ‘Abo Bolam’ under the name and seal of Anthing Nocte, Chairman, Arunachal Affairs, NSCN/GPRN-K (Niki) PAN, and that he personally does not know him or have any intimation about him.

He said that a surprising turn of events revealed that the aforementioned person is curbed to be him, and thus it is an act of fabrication, impersonation, and felony.

Regarding the enrollment year mentioned in the clarification, which was 2006, he stated that ‘it was not from an authentic source and that if he had approached officials of the NSCN-K (Niki) group, why would he seek the help of the media?’

In reference to the collection of ransom or tax in the name of NSCN-K (Niki) and accountability, he reasoned that since he has no relation to the NSCN-K (Niki) group, why would he take advantage of the party’s credibility and reputation for personal gain while pledging allegiance to his government, i.e., NSCN-IM?

“From the date of joining the national service, I have not defected to any organisation or party. Such is the exemplary status of my rigid stand and principality,” he said.

He stated that NSCN-K (Niki) will have on record its cadres by the names ‘Abo Bolam’ alias ‘Abo Wangsu’ of Changnu village under Londing district, who holds the post of Captain in the army set-up and is a tax collector, and ‘Abo Pongoi’ of Kanubari, who holds the post of ‘Razou Peyu’ in the regional set-up, and both are assigned under ‘Athing Notice,’ Chairman, Arunachal Affairs.

He mentioned that ‘Athing Notice’, Chairman, Arunachal Affairs, recently defected from NSCN-U to NSCN-K (Niki) and alleged that he is a habitual drug abuser, and if such a person is assigned to lead a nation, it will never prosper based on his principality and discipline.

“I am not blaming your party, i.e., NSCN-K (Niki), however, a dubious drug addict who holds no principality or discipline of the likes of ‘Athing Notice’, Chairman, Arunachal Affairs, is planting seeds of ‘hatred and confusion’ between the two partied/organisation by fabricating impersonation against me. May the truth prevail over the injustice,” he maintained.
