DIMAPUR — ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) has welcomed the new batch of students during a programme held on August 25 at the university auditorium.
In his welcome speech, IUN registrar, Rupanka Bhuyan, has emphasised on unity in diversity and the pursuit of knowledge.
Addressing students from diverse academic fields including English Literature, Philosophy, Economics and more, he highlighted the transformative journey ahead and encouraged them to embrace challenges, engage with peers and nurture personal growth.
Bhuyan stated that education goes beyond degrees by fostering a compassionate and innovative approach. He added that event set the stage for an exciting academic year at the university, where students are poised to embark on a journey of self-discovery and excellence.
The university vice chancellor, Professor Dr. S Borbora, urged the students to nurture their dreams and dedicate themselves to the pursuit of those aspirations. He underscored the significance of engaging with a diverse range of individuals and actively participating in extracurricular activities, which would contribute immensely to holistic personality development.
He also expressed hope that the students’ success would be accompanied by a strong sense of compassion, making them not only accomplished individuals but also caring contributors to society.
The titles of Mr and Miss Freshers ICFAI University Nagaland 2023 were awarded to Longmekumzuk Chang (MA English) and Ayinla Jongpfülea (BA Political Science), while the best ethnic-wear titles were awarded to Larito R Yimchungru (MA Education) and Hriivine Zho (BA English) respectively.
