Dimapur — The Pfuchatsumia Students’ Union (PSU) organised a one-day literary programme on the theme ‘Pages of tomorrow’ at Marocchino Hall, Christ King Church and GMS, P Khel, Kohima village on Saturday.

Director of Information & Public Relations, Dzüvinuo Theünuo, the special guest of the event, urged the students to be God-fearing and maintain humility, stating that academic achievements alone are not enough if one lacks fear of the Lord and humility.

She encouraged the students to listen to their elders and friends, as this helps them to gain new ideas and knowledge, an official update stated.

Theünuo also stated that setting goals and practicing time management from a young age were crucial habits for future success.

Emphasising on the importance of being an avid reader, not only focusing on academic books but exploring various genres of interest, she said that reading fosters wisdom and provides an edge over others in the long run.

She encouraged the students to realise that the potential for gaining knowledge lies within them and that self-imposed limitations hinder their growth.

Theünuo further advised them to stay positive, resilient, make time for reading and relaxation, strive for excellence, and avoid procrastination, as it obstructs progress towards achieving goals.

President of PSU, Ruokuovituo Mere, in his address said that the literary day is the most important event in the union’s annual calendar.

The programme, primarily organised for students in classes XII and below, aims to instill a sense of competitive spirit and guide them towards success through hard work, perseverance, and meritocracy.

Highlights of the literary day included various competitions such as debate, elocution, extempore speech, solo singing and Instrumental, spelling bee, quiz, painting and sketching, essay writing, and PSU Got Talent, with participants from different schools.

Catechist CKC, Ruokuovituo Robert Rutsa, invoked God’s blessings, and special musical performances were presented by Medosanuo Rutsa and Mhaphruonuo Rutsa.
