MOKOKCHUNG — The 12 Assam Rifles stationed in Mokokchung conducted a blood donation camp at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital on Friday.
The blood donation camp was participated by both Assam Rifles personnel and civil donors. The aim was to collect and provide blood units for critical patients, pregnant ladies and others who face difficulties in managing rare blood group in times of emergency.
The local heads and committee members, who actively took part in the campaign, have expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for the noble cause.
Besides, the 12 Assam Rifles also donated food items, stationary and items of basic necessities including blankets to the orphan home in Chungtia village under Mokokchung district on May 25.
In a related programme, the No. 2 training battalion under the aegis of Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) held a donation programme at Nagaland Children’s Home, 4th Mile, on Friday as part of “World Environment Day.”
A defence release stated that the commanding officer of No. 2 training battalion along with his team visited the orphanage and presented essential commodities such as books, clothes and utensil to the children. The team also held an interactive session. It mentioned that Assam Rifles has always endeavoured to contribute as much as possible for the wellbeing of the society.
