37th PDSA: KKTSA to clash with CASA in football final
Kohima, April 14 (EMN): The host unit Chozuba Area Sports Association (CASA) will clash with Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports Association (KKTSA) in both men’s and women’s football finals of the ongoing 37th Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) on Saturday in Chozuba town.
In the first semi-final match, Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports Association (KKTSA) humiliated Seceku Range Sports Association (SRSA) by 6-0 goals in men’s football.
KKTSA captain, Rhitsho Mero, scored two goals while Johnny Ritse along with Metshetsho and Azo scored a goal each. The fate of SRSA was sealed with a suicidal goal.
In the second semi finals, host Chozuba Area Sports Association defeated Tizu Area by 3-0 goals in men’s football. Phito Nienu, Punuru Nienu and Yhoto Lohe scored for Chozuba to make it to the finals.
It may be mentioned that Yhoto Lohe, the winger for Chozuba team, dominated the sport’s meet scoring five goals for Chozuba team. He scored in the quarterfinal and semifinal match again to become the highest scorer of the meet.
Earlier, defending champion Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) lost to Chozuba Area by 2-1 goals in the quarterfinal match end the campaign.
In women’s football, Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports Association defeated Centre Chakhesang Sports Association via tie breaker 2-0 after the semifinal match ended in a goalless draw.
Chozuba Area beat Seceku Range by a solitary goal to book a slot in the final to lock horn with Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports Association in the finale.
Volleyball update
In men’s volleyball, Chokri Area Games Sports Association (CAGSA) beat Seceku Range Sports Association by 25-14, 19-25, 25-17 to enter the final round, while Chozuba Area Sports Association lost to Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports Association by 25-20, 19-25 13-25 to enter the final round.
The final match will be played between Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) and Khezha-Kuzha Tephe in the final match on Saturday.
In women’s volleyball, Chokri Area Games and Sports Association defeated Phek Area Sports Association (CASA) by 25-21, 25-22 straight win in the first semifinal match to register slot for the finale. Chozuba Area Sports Association will play against Tizu Area Sports in the second semifinal match on Saturday.
Basketball update
In men’s basketball, Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) will play against Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports Association (KKTSA) in the final match. CAGSA beat Tizu Area in the first semifinal match by 65-18, and Khezha-Kuzha Tephe defeated Chozuba Area by 39-35.
In women’s basketball, CAGSA will play against host team Chozuba Area in the final match.
The sports meet, which started on April 11, will culminate on Saturday.
