Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has condemned the brutal murder of Imkongchiba Kichu of Chungtia village in Mokokchung district on February 22.
The federation, in an update, said it was shocked that the life of a youth was nipped in the bud by criminals in day light.
“Such act of violence is not the answer even against anybody; it is purely a purging which is undesirable for a society like ours,” NLSF said.
NLSF called upon the state government to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime bring them to justice immediately.
Meanwhile, friends and batchmate of Imkongjeba Kichu, from the graduating Class of 2007, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, have also condemned the brutal killing of their ‘dear friend,’ an engineer by profession with a law degree and a former president of the Chungtia Students’ Union.
“We are profoundly troubled, shocked, and outraged by this heart-wrenchingly barbaric and inhumane act that happened on the 22nd of February 2023. This cold-blooded killing has deprived our society of a leader and a champion working fervently towards equal rights and opportunities for our people,” the Class of 2007 stated in a condemnation note.
They urged the authorities to ensure prompt, independent, impartial, and effective investigation into the brutal murder. Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN)
