Manipur’s first water park to be completed soon
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday informed that the state’s first and only water park will be handed over to the public soon once the ongoing construction at Theng Ngu ching is completed.
Chief Minister Biren Singh’s words came to light after he inspected the present status of the water amusement park at Theng Ngu Ching, Awang Potshangbam Khunou,about 12 km north of Imphal on Monday.
Sharing the photographs of his inspection visit in a tweet,Singh wrote, “The Water Amusement Park, the first water park in the state, located at Theng Ngu Ching, Awang Potshangbam Khunou will be handed over to the public soon. This will be a great recreational space for the people of the state.”
The day’s inspection visit was made after the state chief minister inaugurated a public community hall at Maibakhul village in Imphal East district on Monday.
It may be mentioned that the chief minister had laid the foundation stone for the state’s first-ever water amusement park at Theng Ngu Chingjin at Awang Potshangbam Khunou in Imphal East district in December,2020.The estimated cost of the amusement park would be INR 40 crore.
In his statehood day observation speech on January 21, Biren Singh had also informed that the Manipur government had obtained approval to construct children’s parks in seven different districts including Chandel, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul.
