KAAC member inspects Police Reserve LP School
The Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, D Uphing Maslai visited Police Reserve LP School, here on Saturday on the third and concluding day of the first phase of Gonotsav in Karbi Anglong district,
The EM arrived at the school by 8.30 am and participated in the assembly conducted by the students. He checked the registers maintained by the school authority on mid-day meal scheme, attendance of the students and teachers, the grant-in-aid received by the school, and disbursement of school uniforms and study materials.
The EM also conducted reading and writing tests to know the ability of the learning students and inspected the school campus on the cleanliness and maintenance of the school.
Expressing the issues faced by the school, the headmistress, Urmi Ronghangpi, told the EM that the school has no complete boundary wall; furniture needs to be provided as it is not sufficient and a new ring well needs to be installed as the water- level has gone down.
Speaking to media persons, the EM said the students and teachers have maintained the school campus properly. “When I went around there it was neat and clean. The students and teachers have maintained their school nicely,” EM said.
He also said, “After conducting the reading and writing test I have found the students are sincere in their studies. In one of the halls, there is no partition. An additional classroom is needed, the EM said. The performance of students and teachers is satisfactory, he said.
