Centre ‘not serious’ about solving Naga political issue — Nienu
Dimapur, Dec. 29 (EMN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) leader of legislature party, Kuzholuzo Nienu on Thursday claimed that the Central Government was “not serious” about bringing the Naga political issue to a logical conclusion, stating that it failed to table the Naga issue in the recently concluded winter Parliament session.
Speaking as the inaugural guest of the golden jubilee of the Thürütsüswümi Students’ Union, Nienu said Naga people had “high hopes” for the arrival of a solution, however, the Central government had failed to fulfil the hopes of the people.
He maintained that the party will always be committed to the Naga political issue, and strive for an early solution that is ‘honourable, inclusive and acceptable’.
The NPF leader pointed out that ‘since solution before the election is a distant dream for the moment’, the state Assembly election is ‘imminent’ and hence ‘the Nagas should be mentally prepared’.
He maintained that election is a mechanism to either shape or design the future and destiny or destroy it, and therefore called upon the people to choose and vote for the right party and the right leader to represent the Naga people.
Nienu also thanked the pioneers of the Thürütsüswümi Students’ Union, the toppers and those students who had come out with flying colours and brought laurels to the community and further wished them the best in all their endeavours.
