Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated a sub-health centre, Unity Village at 5th Mile under Chümoukedima district on Saturday.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Zhimomi said that one priority of the government is to create health infrastructure across the length and breadth of the state and cater healthcare service to the last man standing. He added that the state government under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, has launched the chief minister’s medical coverage life insurance scheme in the state which would cover all sections of people including government employees.

Zhimomi stated that development of health and road sectors have always been the priority of the state government. In this regard, he has sought the cooperation and unity to enable the fruits of development reached everyone.

Stating that India can progress only if the citizens are fit, he said the Prime Minister of India had started ‘Fit India movement’ in order to realise the objective.

While delivering a short speech, advisor to the minister of Health and Family Welfare, O Yanger Phom, informed that Unity Village was established in 1984 and got recognition in 2014. Phom stated that before Chümoukedima district was established, five sub-health centres under Dimapur district were allocated out of which one each was created in Unity Village and Eralibill village.

While interacting with the media persons, chief medical officer of Chümoukedima, Dr. M Tiala Longkumer, informed that they need at least two nurses and one medical attendant to make the sub-health centre functional.

Longkumer informed that the construction was completed within six months at a cost of around INR 17.75 lakh which consisted of six rooms with two attach toilet.
