Nagaland to hold civic reception, cultural programme in honour of President Droupadi Murmu

Dimapur, Oct. 28 (EMN): The government of Nagaland is organising a civic reception and cultural programme for the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, who is visiting the state next month.

The two-day visit from November 2 to the 3rd will be her maiden trip to Nagaland after she became the president of the country.

In a circular, all the administrative heads of departments and heads of departments have been requested to attend the civic reception to be held at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima for the president on November 2 at 3:00 pm. They also have been asked to instruct all the officers and staff of their departments and directorates to attend the function and be seated at the venue by 2:30 pm.

In another circular, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha has requested the presidents and office bearers of 22 civil society organisations — CNTC, ENPO, TPO, APO Kohima, CPO Phek, Ao Senden Mokokchung, CKS Tuensang, NGTC Dimapur, KTCN Dimapur, KUN Dimapur, KTC Noklak, KU Mon, KIN Dimapur, LH Wokha, PPC Longleng, PH Meluri, RH Tseminyu, SH Zunheboto, TTC Kuisam, USLP Kiphire, YTC Shamator, and NZPO Peren — to attend the civic reception wearing their traditional shawls and to be seated at the venue by 2 pm.

All the participants have asked to wear face mask at all times during the function.

An update from DIPR has also informed that a cultural programme and State Banquet will be organised at the State Banquet Hall, CM’s Residential Complex in Kohima on November 2 at 6:30 pm, in honour of the president.

For this, all the administrative heads of departments and heads of departments have been requested to attend the programme and be seated at the venue latest by 6:00 pm.
