Yimkhiung Tribe Council bans election campaigns in its area
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) has resolved to completely ban any election campaign by political leaders, political party workers and candidature declaration programme in any form by individual and groups or parties under Yimkhiung areas.
The resolution to this effect was taken during a joint consultative meeting of the YTC along with all the Yimkhiung frontal organisations on September 27 at Shamator headquarters, a copy of the resolution which was submitted to the ENPO president stated. The meeting was called in adherence to the ENPO resolution to abstain from the forthcoming Nagaland state general election and any election process of state and central to pave way and support the August 26, 2022, resolution of the ENPO for separate statehood ‘Frontier Nagaland.’
YTC also endorsed its fullest support to the decision of Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) to organise a mass public walkathon on October 7 to show solidarity for the Frontier Nagaland statehood demand.
The meeting further resolved to initiate befitting action against the political leaders, party workers, groups and individual who fail to comply with its notification for the common interest of Eastern Nagaland according to its resolutions and constitution.
