Wokha, Sep. 16 (EMN): In an unfortunate incident, a house was completely gutted in a devastating fire which broke at Sanis town in Wokha district on September 15.

Report stated that properties worth more than INR 3 lakh were destroyed in the fire, which was suspected to have caused by an electric short circuit.

The housewife of the family informed that she had recently started a small business wherein she had stocked somewhere around 25-30 kg of fish and silkworms, which were also completely gutted in the fire.

The family members informed that a passerby saw the house in flames and alerted the villagers, who rushed to put out the fire. It was also informed that a gas cylinder exploded and completely burn down the house into ashes in less than half an hour.

The family members were away in their field during the time of the incident. No loss of life or injuries was reported from the incident.

It mentioned that a lone fire station for Sani sub-division under in Wokha district is located at Wokha headquarters, which is about 40 km away.

The family members informed that they are yet to inform the concerned authorities till the time of filing this report.
