GPRN/NSCN accuses NSCN (IM) of exploiting peaceful atmosphere
Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): The GPRN/NSCN (Khehoi) has accused the NSCN (IM) of exploiting the tranquil atmosphere without any consideration to the larger call of the Naga people for peace and early resolution of the Indo-Naga political issue.
‘Their activities in the midst of the fragile amicable environment have become a matter of Naga people’s collective introspection,’ the MIP, GPRN/NSCN, stated in a press release.
It alleged that a cadre of GPRN/NSCN ,who was on leave to attend to his ailing mother in Ao Region, was recently detained by the NSCN (IM) cadres and kept under home arrest.
The NSCN (IM) also imposed heavy monetary fine and intimidated the cadre to either quit GPRN/NSCN or join NSCN (IM), it claimed.
It added that the indifference towards the sentiments of the Naga people has been the trademark of the NSCN (IM).
GPRN/NSCN further claimed that the ‘martial operations’ were detrimental to the reputation of the Ao brothers and sisters and a ‘notorious scheme’ of disturbing peace, tranquillity and creating a situation in the land.
On the other hand, it maintained that GPRN/NSCN from the beginning has established itself to forge unity and peace amongst the various NPGs and public alike and had been unequivocally upright in advocating the desires and sentiments of the Naga people.
Maintaining that GPRN/NSCN is not interested in contesting ‘illusionary privileges’, it insisted that the NSCN (IM) should approach the prevailing reality with courtesy if they truly consider supporting the well-being of the Naga people and society.
