Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): St. John’s School in Aboi under Mon district, in collaboration with Highland Meadow Society, organised a ‘Cultural Awakening Week’ from July 5 to the 8th at the school premises.
According to an update, the event was organised with the objective to revive the vanishing cultural and traditional practices among the children.
The EAC of Aboi, Chuba Sanen Ozükum, who graced the occasion as guest of honour, exhorted the children to love and value their culture and traditions stating that they are indispensable part of one’s identity.
The EAC lauded St. John’s School, Aboi, and the Highland Meadow Society for providing a platform where children could be encouraged to appreciate and celebrate one’s cultural and traditional heritage.
Songs and dances, traditional and modern attire ramp walks, talent shows and beauty pageant were the main highlights of the programme, it informed.
