Union MoS visits Chandel aspirational district

Imphal, May 19 (EMN): Faggan Singh Kulaste, Union Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development visited aspirational district Chandel and interacted with officials of various departments, local community delegates, self help groups and tribal delegates of the district at Mini-Conference Hall, DC Complex, Chandel on May 18.
The interaction programme was organised by the district administration, Chandel.
During the interaction programme, the minister took part in a series of discussions that witnessed participants from various communities of the district, who shared their success and failure stories of their efforts in their respective fields and also projected their demands.
The delegates expressed their gratitude to the minister for initiating an extensive outreach programme for the welfare of the people. The minister also interacted with key district-level officers and inquired about the initiatives and projects taken up under the central and state sponsored schemes.
During the interaction, the union minister said that several measures and initiatives are being taken up to make Chandel a prosperous and developed place and for the welfare of the people of the district. He also assured to look into the demands raised by all the delegates.
The minister also inspected Maha Area Producers Co-operative Society Limited (MAPS) at Liwa Khullen village, which is supported and promoted by CDCRMS in collaboration with NERCORMP, Chandel. The minister inspected the different varieties of food products available at the centre and lauded the role and the efforts of the farmers in the development of the district and state.
He also handed over short term training certificates to students during the programme.
The programme was also attended by Mayanglambam Rajkumarr, Deputy Commissioner.
