T20 WCC: Salix CC, Royal Strikers Tsumang win matches

Wokha, Jan. 5 (EMN): Salix CC and Royal Strikers Tsumang got the better of their opponents at the ongoing 26th Open T20 Winter Cricket Challenge at local ground, Wokha on Wednesday.
In the first match played between Salix CC and Juggernauts, the latter won the toss and opted to bat first setting a target of 100 runs in 18.3 overs all out.
Romokhon with 13 runs and Anil Sharma with 23 runs were the main scorers for Juggernauts. Hemari Teron of Salix CC claimed three wickets while Waisong claimed two wickets.
Salix CC won the match in 19 overs where Naisong made 40 runs (not out) and was declared the man of the match for his unbeaten knock of 40 runs and securing two wickets while bowling.
In the second match between Royal Strikers Tsumang and Hornbill CC, Royal Strikers won the toss and opted to bat first setting a target of 146 runs in 19 overs.
Aman and Akash, who made 47 runs each contributed to the team score. Vikato and Monju of Hornbill CC claimed four and two wickets respectively.
Hornbill CC was restricted to 105 all out in 20 overs while batting where Viketoulie made 40 runs but could not help the team secure the win.
For Royal Strikers, Amar claimed three wickets while Laxman also claimed three wickets.
Royal Strikers Tsumang won the match by 45 runs where man of the match was awarded to Amar for his knock of 47 runs not out and three wickets haul in four overs while bowling.
On Jan. 6 (Thursday), PWD will play against GAPYO CC in the first match while Tritons will take on Blitzkrieg in the second match.
