Nagaland records single-day rise of 19 Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 19 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 31,492 and active caseload to 247.

The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 29,557 with 28 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 658 after two patients succumbed to the disease.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, eight positive cases were reported in Dimapur, seven in Kohima, two in Phek and one each in Tuensang and Wokha.

Out f the 28 new recoveries, 16 were reported in Dimapur, six in Kohima and two each Mokokchung, Phek and Wokha.

Nagaland currently has 247 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 177 are asymptomatic, 50 mild, six moderate on oxygen, 11 severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator, and two in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 137 cases, followed by Kohima with 50, 28 in Mokokchung, 12 in Tuensang, nine in Phek, three each in Wokha and Mon, two each in Kiphire and Peren, one in Longleng, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-free.
