Nagaland reports 28 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death; India logs 18795 infections

Dimapur, Sep. 28 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 28 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 31,195 and active caseload to 401.
The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 29,145 with 51 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 649 with one more fatality.
According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 15 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, seven in Kohima, three in Mokokchungn two in Peren and one in Wokha.
Of the 51 new recoveries, 29 were in Dimapur, 10 in Kohima, five in Wokha, four in Mokokchung and one each in Kiphire, Peren and Phek.
Nagaland currently has 401 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 301 are asymptomatic, 81 mild, nine moderate on oxygen, five severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator, and four in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 212 active cases, followed by Kohima with 93, 42 in Mokokchung, 19 in Tuensang, 18 in Phek, eight in Kiphire, two in Wokha, five in Longleng, and two in Peren, while Zunheboto and Mon are currently Covid-free.
India logs 18795 new cases
India reported 18,795 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the country’s tally to 3,36,97,581 while the active caseload dropped to 2,92,206, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
A many as 179 people succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours taking the total number of fatalities to 4,47,373.
The recovery of 26,030 patients during the same period pushed the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,29,58,002.
Meanwhile, with the administration of 1,02,22,525 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 87 crore (87,07,08,636).
