Nagaland records 124 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

Dimapur, July 24 (EMN): Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 27,240 as 124 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Saturday.

The state also reported one death in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 524, while cumulative recoveries increased to 24,630 after 59 more patients recovered. 

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 124 new cases detected on Saturday, Dimapur reported highest cases at 54, followed by Kohima at 37, 11 in Mokokchung, 10 in Peren, four in Mon, three each in Longleng and Tuensang, and one each in Kiphire and Wokha.

The state also recorded 59 recoveries, out of which 19 were in Dimapur, 11 in Tuensang, 10 in Kohima, nine in Mokokchung, five in Phek, four in Zunheboto, and one in Peren.

Nagaland currently has 1312 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1040 are asymptomatic, 211 mild, 31 moderate on oxygen, 14 severe on oxygen, nine in ICU without ventilator, and seven in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Kohima has 500 active cases, 377 in Dimapur, 221 in Mokokchung, 39 in Longleng, 32 in Peren, 31 each in Tuensang and  Kiphire, 28 in Wokha, 24 in Phek, 23 in Mon, and six in Zunheboto.

39K new cases in India

India reported 39,097 new infections on Saturday, pushing the total Covid-19 caseload to 3,13,32,159 (3.13 crore), according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It updated that the death count increased to 4,20,016 with 546 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 3,05,03,166 (3.05 crore) people have recovered from Covid-19 while 35,087 patients recovered on Saturday.

A total of 42,78,82,261 vaccine doses have been administered so far, while 42,67,799 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
