Musicians Guild Nagaland to observe ‘World Music Day’

Kohima, June 16 (EMN): Musicians Guild Nagaland (MGN) has announced to celebrate the sixth edition of World Music Day concert via virtual platform to raise funds for Covid-19 patients belonging to poor economic backgrounds.

“We would like to do our part in alleviating the pain of those who are suffering. Towards this cause, we will be hosting a virtual relief concert on June 21 with an intent of raising funds from free-will donors,’ Musicians Guild informed on Wednesday.

“All proceeds from the event would go towards providing relief and support to Covid patients from financially poor families who are struggling to fight against this pandemic” it added.

It mentioned that the ‘World Music Day’ concert is normally celebrated featuring some of the best artistes from Nagaland as well as from the Northeast states. The Musicians Guild also informed that Covid-19 pandemic has deeply affected the local musicians since last year as they perform live shows.

Keeping in view of the difficult situation faced by artistes, Musicians Guild has announced to present a ‘Music Awards’ to all Northeastern states to encourage and support musicians during this difficult time.

It added that a total of 193 entries from all the seven Northeastern states have been registered for the award. The organisation informed that that the results would be declared on World Music Day.

World Music Day concert is being initiated by Symphony Academy of Music, in collaboration with San production, Indihut, Out Loud Inc, Shiu lights and Highland Dawn media.

The World Music Day concert would be presented by Musicians Guild and supported by TaFMA and Disaster Management Authority.

WMD virtual concert and MG Music Awards would be telecast in Musicians Guild NL YouTube channel on June 21 at 6 pm.
