Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): Integrated Extension Training Centre (IETC), Medziphema, in collaboration with the State Agricultural Management and Training Institute (Sameti), Medziphema, and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (Manage), Hyderabad, conducted a six-day skill training of rural youth (Stry) on “Poultry rearing and management” from April 26 to May 1.
An update from IETC informed that the training programme focused on the importance of poultry rearing and management and various aspects for successful adoption by rural youth.
Issues such as improved management aspects of poultry management, breeds of poultry, feed management and bio supplements, egg production of layers, disease management of poultry, marketing of birds, economics of poultry rearing, layout of different housing systems, vaccination schedules of poultry against major diseases etc. were taken during the technical sessions.
Kikatemjen Ozukum, SDAO of IETC was the moderator, while the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Watimongla Jamir, IETC vice principal, and vote of thanks was delivered by Seyievielo Sono, IETC lecturer.
Report also stated that all the participants were given certificates.
Altogether, 15 trainees along with the officers and staff from IETC attended the training programme. Lecturers and officers from IETC and Sameti were the resource persons of the training.
